Pride Month: Celebrating Community, Diversity, and Home

June is Pride Month, a time to honor the history, achievements, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community while celebrating the diversity that strengthens our neighborhoods.

At Residential Mortgage Center, we believe that homeownership is about more than finding a place to live. It’s about creating a place where you feel safe, comfortable, and empowered to be yourself. We are proud to serve individuals and families from all backgrounds and remain committed to fostering an inclusive experience for our clients, partners, and community members.

We proudly support the queer community through our sponsorships of the DC Gay Flag Football League, DC Pride Volleyball League, DC Rogue Pickleball League, and DC Gay Basketball League. These organizations create inclusive spaces for community building, competition, and belonging, and we’re honored to be part of their efforts.

We also proudly engage in advancing housing equity as a member of the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance. I recently attended the Alliance’s Housing Symposium, where industry leaders discussed strategies to expand fair and equal access to housing and homeownership for LGBTQ+ individuals and families.

Alliance members also met with congressional offices to advocate for the Alliance’s policy priorities, like strengthening fair housing protections, restoring equal access to credit, improving data collection to identify and address barriers to homeownership, and expanding resources that help LGBTQ+ Americans build long-term financial security through homeownership.

As we celebrate Pride, we reaffirm our commitment to serving all members of our community with respect, professionalism, and care.
